Carolina Crossroads Music & Entertainment District

The Carolina Crossroads Music & Entertainment District is a 750 acre music theater and entertainment center to be located along Interstate 95 at Exit 171 in Roanoke Rapids, NC. Carolina Crossroads will become a nationally-recognized travel destination for our state. With the attraction of Grand Ole Opry legends, family entertainment venues such as music theaters, shopping, hotels, motels, restaurants, and family recreational activities, Carolina Crossroads’ location along Interstate 95 has the potential to attract visitors from across the country for world class family entertainment.

Phase I of the project will encompass 130 acres and open in summer of 2007. The project represents an estimate $257,000,000 investment and the creation of over 2,400 new jobs in the first phase.

 

The City of Roanoke Rapids

The City of Roanoke Rapids is partnering with Blanchard & Calhoun Commercial, Roanoke Land, the Roanoke Valley Chamber of Commerce, the Halifax County Tourism Development Authority, the Northeast Partnership,and Randy and Deb Parton to successfully plan, develop and market Carolina Crossroads.  The City is constructing the Randy Parton Theater, which is being designed by Bullock-Smith Architects of Knoxville, Tennessee.  The City is also responsible for the public roadway and utility construction.  MS Consultants of Sanford, North Carolina is the design engineering firm.  DesignWorks of Charleston, South Carolina is the land planning firm.  The North Carolina Department of Transportation and the Roanoke Rapids Sanitary District are partnering with the City with respect to the public infrastructure improvements.
