Business After Hours - The UPS Store

2007 Groundhog Day

Groundhog Day (or Career Day) is the middle school job shadowing program of the Roanoke Valley Business-Education-Partnership. Participating students experienced part of a day “shadowing” a particular person, department or business. Ninety-six eighth graders from 8 middle schools participated. Shadowing provides a broad overview of all aspects of a worksite by allowing students to follow one or more persons on the job. More than 40 businesses and agencies such as the RR Police and Fire Departments, attorneys, Halifax County Court System, DSS, Halifax Regional, realtors, restaurants, the Daily Herald, WZRU participated.
